Anti-sniper fees

Why trading starts at a 99% fee and how it steps down to 2% in the first 30 seconds.

Sniper bots try to buy in the very first block of a launch and sell into the first real buyers. On BrickPad that trade is not worth it: the trading fee starts at 99% and steps down every second until it reaches 2% after 30 seconds. From then on the fee stays at 2% for the life of the pool.

What it means for you

  • A buy in the first 30 seconds pays a high fee. The trade panel's quote shows the fee in effect and marks it “anti-sniper” while the window is open, so you see it before you sign.
  • Waiting 30 seconds after a launch costs you nothing but those seconds.
  • Fees paid during the window are ordinary trading fees: they are split between Meteora, the creator and the platform like every other fee. See Fees and rewards.

The creator is not affected

The dev buy is the first swap in the launch transaction and pays the 2% minimum fee, not 99%. See Dev buy.

Other schedules

A custom config can start lower, end anywhere up to 10%, run its window up to five minutes, and step linearly or exponentially. See Launch configs for the presets and limits.
