Dev buy
Buy your own token in the launch transaction at the minimum fee, and lock it for a set time if you want.
A dev buy is the creator's own first buy, made inside the launch transaction. Nobody can trade before it lands, and it pays the 2% minimum fee instead of the 99% anti-sniper fee. It is optional: you can launch with no dev buy at all.
The rules
- Presets
- 0.1 / 0.5 / 1 / 2 SOL, or any amount
- Maximum
- 10 SOL
- Fee
- the config's ending fee: 2% on BrickPad Standard
- Keep in your wallet
- about 0.05 SOL on top, for the launch itself
- Example
- 1 SOL ≈ 31,704,949 tokens, 3.17% of supply
What you get
These are exact quotes on BrickPad Standard, computed from the config the same way the wizard does. A custom config gives other numbers, and the wizard quotes them for you.
| Dev buy | Tokens | Share of supply |
|---|---|---|
| 0.1 SOL | 3,256,788 | 0.33% |
| 0.5 SOL | 16,089,312 | 1.61% |
| 1 SOL | 31,704,949 | 3.17% |
| 2 SOL | 61,596,479 | 6.16% |
| 5 SOL | 141,823,442 | 14.18% |
| 10 SOL | 250,639,383 | 25.06% |
Good to know
- Above 10% of the supply the wizard warns you: buyers may see a large creator bag as a risk.
- An amount that would buy the whole curve, and graduate the pool at once, is refused. On BrickPad Standard that would take 88.58 SOL, far above the 10 SOL cap, so it only matters on small custom configs.
- The tokens land in your wallet, yours to hold or sell like anyone else's, unless you lock them.
Lock your dev buy
Buyers often fear that a creator will sell the dev buy straight after launch. You can answer that up front: in the dev buy step, choose how long to lock the tokens your dev buy gets. Right after the launch lands, your wallet asks for one more approval, and the tokens move into a lock. Until the unlock date nobody can move them, not even you, and nobody can cancel the lock.
- Lengths
- Off, 1 / 7 / 30 days, or any whole number of days up to 3650 (10 years)
- What is locked
- everything the dev buy got, read from your wallet right after the launch
- Cancel or redirect
- not possible: nobody can cancel the lock or send the tokens to another wallet
- Unlock
- all at once on the unlock date, back to the wallet that locked them
- Cost
- no lock fee, only about 0.005 SOL rent for the lock's accounts
- Contract
- Jupiter Lock (Locp...Qqjn), the locker Meteora's bonding curve uses for locked vesting
Everyone sees the lock in the Dev buy lock panel on the token page: how many tokens, their share of the supply, the unlock date and a countdown. From the unlock date, the creator wallet claims the tokens back in that panel.
